First submission of 2013! I worked on this for quite a while. Too long, actually... I ended up getting sick during the process, and that slowed things down. I ran into a couple of rough spots here and there, but I like the feelings I get from the contrasting color palette. I have learned that I need to be a little more careful about my initial planning before I jump to details. The scale is a bit awkward and difficult to determine, and character placement is botchy. On the subject of details, I gave the clouds a lot more attention than I usually do. It was... a tranquil experience.
So, what's the story? I was listening to "Venus" by Celldweller and the painting came to me. I have a few ideas about what's going on here, but I want you to interpret this as you see fit. That's the fun part about my work! I will only be adamant about a couple of things... First, Gaz is unconscious. Secondly, Zim did not hurt her.
I wanted to expose a more vulnerable side of Gaz, something we haven't really seen before. Under all that anger and display of toughness... She's really only human. A small girl in a scary universe so large, she couldn't begin to understand it. In this universe, there is very real danger... And in the game of life, there are no "continues."
I've also changed her appearance just slightly.;___; I do admittedly ship these two, but that doesn't mean this image is meant to be romantic in any way.

make InvaderCON 3 happen! It is an amazing fan-made convention celebrating the goodness that is Invader Zim. I went to the second last year, and I loved every minute of it. Should there be a third, I will certainly try to get a table in the vendor room and sell prints!
All that is needed is simple... The team that organizes the conventions wants your likes on Facebook, and/or follows on Twitter. Their goal is 10,000. They're mostly there! If we can prove that Zim is popular enough to warrant a third convention, they will consider going through with it. I will make a journal entry with more information at a later date.
