~ Front Line Assembly - Unleashed [link]

This is just a little something I worked on to get myself back into the mood of painting after a long vacation. Let's see... I woke up at around four in the morning with an image just stuck in my head. I couldn't sleep, and had no choice but to try and paint it. To my delight, I was able to re-create what I intended quite accurately! The background was painted in about three hours, and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I intended for this to be a Zim piece from the beginning, which is why the whole thing looks more grim than my usual work. Post-apocalyptic and sci-fi scenes are quickly becoming some of my favorites to work with. Also... DAT SPACESUIT. Zim was added later, and it took a while for me to color him. Mostly because I was having too much fun during a private livestream session with my bestest friend. <3 YOUKNOWWHOYOUARE.

But yeah, I really liked making this one. I wanna do more like it in the near future! From a technical standpoint, I can see a lot of improvement from my previous work. There is a lot of empty space in the composition of this one, but I got positive feedback prior to posting for that very reason. It's not obvious in-your-face fanart, but rather a scene with the character conforming to it as a secondary element.

All that being said, I hope you like it!

Now to work on some other important pending art... I have a special someone in mind.
